About Treatments ​

1. What holistic therapies do you offer?
We offer a range of holistic treatments designed to restore balance to the mind, body, and soul. Our therapies include massage, Reiki, sound healing, aromatherapy, reflexology, Ayurvedic therapies, chakra balancing, facial treatments, and tailored rituals. Each treatment is tailored to your needs and designed to support your emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

2. How do I choose the right treatment for me?
If you’re unsure which therapy best suits your needs, our therapists can help you understand your goals, whether it’s relaxation, pain relief, or spiritual alignment, and guide you toward the best option for you.

 

3. What should I expect during my first visit?
When you arrive, your therapist will discuss your health, lifestyle, and what you hope to gain from the treatment. Each session is tailored to your needs, with a calm, welcoming atmosphere that allows you to unwind fully.

 

4. What is the difference between Reiki and Sound Healing?
Reiki is an energy-based healing practice that channels universal life force energy to help restore balance and reduce stress. Sound Healing, on the other hand, uses vibrational frequencies, such as Tibetan singing bowls, to harmonise the body and mind, promoting deep relaxation and emotional release.

 

5. Can I combine multiple treatments in one session?
Yes, we offer treatment combinations that allow you to blend therapies. For example, a massage followed by Reiki or reflexology provides a more complete and deeply restorative experience.

 

6. Do I need to book a consultation before my first session?
A consultation is included at the beginning of your first session to ensure the treatment is tailored to your needs and preferences.

 

7. What are Rituals, and how are they different from regular treatments?
Rituals are 120-minute sessions that combine multiple modalities such as massage, energy work, and aromatherapy to create a deeply immersive experience. They are designed to restore harmony on all levels; physical, emotional, and spiritual.

 

8. Are treatments suitable for pregnancy or postnatal care?
Yes. We offer specialised treatments such as Holistic Pregnancy Massage and Reflexology for Pregnancy. These sessions are designed to promote relaxation, reduce swelling, and ease tension in a safe and nurturing way. Please contact us to discuss more.

 

9. Can I request a specific therapist for my treatment?
Yes, when booking online you can choose between Marta or Ragan, depending on the treatment. Each therapist has unique training and expertise.

 

10. Can I have a massage at the same time as my friend?

At the moment, we don’t have the facilities to offer treatments at the same time.

 

11. Do you offer treatments for men?
Yes, all our treatments are inclusive and open to everyone. 

 

12. What are the benefits of Ayurvedic Massage?
Our Holistic Abhyanga Massage is based on Ayurvedic principles that promote balance between mind, body, and spirit. Using warm oils and rhythmic strokes, this massage supports circulation, detoxification, and relaxation while grounding the nervous system.

 

13. What oils or products are used in your treatments? 

We use only natural and organic oils in all our treatments. The standard base for most massages is Sweet Almond Oil, chosen for its gentle, nourishing qualities. When scented, our blends contain pure essential oils with no synthetic fragrances.

Most of the scented oils are hand-blended by Marta, making sure each one carries intention and care. For aromatherapy and Ayurvedic massages, the oils are always tailored to your individual needs.

Marta prepares the Ayurvedic oils herself using a variety of traditional Ayurvedic botanicals and essential oils, combined in three different base oils depending on your dosha.

 

14. Do you provide aftercare advice following a treatment?
Yes, after your session your therapist will recommend personalised aftercare advice to help you extend the benefits of your treatment. This may include hydration, rest, breathing exercises, or gentle self-care rituals.

 

15. What is breathwork?
Breathwork uses mindful breathing to calm the mind and balance energy. It’s often included in treatments to deepen relaxation and support emotional release.

16. What is a deep tissue massage?
Deep tissue massage targets deeper muscle layers to relieve tension and improve mobility. Pressure is always adjusted to your comfort and tailored to your needs.

 

17. How are treatments tailored to me?
Each session begins with a short consultation to understand your needs. Your oils, pressure, and techniques are then tailored to your body and energy on the day.

 

18. What are energy rituals?
Energy rituals blend massage, aromatherapy, energy work, and breathwork to restore balance and promote emotional and spiritual harmony.

 

Booking & Payment

19. How do I book a session?
You can book directly through our website by selecting your preferred treatment, therapist, and time. Each listing shows session duration and pricing for easy booking. We also can take payments in person, and we accept both cash or card. All bookings need to be paid for in full in advance. 

 

20. Can I book online or do I need to call directly?
All treatments can be booked online, but you’re also welcome to message your chosen therapist directly using their contact details.

 

21. How do I redeem a gift card?
Simply enter your eGift card code when booking online. The value will be deducted from your total at checkout.

22. Can I purchase an eGift Card for someone else?
Yes, you can! Choose your desired amount, enter the recipient’s details, and include a personalised message. You can even select a delivery date for special occasions.

 

23. How do I use a discount or referral code?
Log in to your account to refer friends and earn discounts. When your friends book, both you and they receive 10% off.

 

24. Do you accept cash or card payments in person?

We welcome payments in person, and we accept both cash or card. All bookings need to be paid for in full in advance. 

 

25. Are there package deals or loyalty plans available?

We have a monthly membership plan. They save £10 on the usual price. Membership can be cancelled free of charge after the first 3 months. No refund, nor rolling over the treatment to next month is allowed. 

 

Before Your Appointment

26. How early should I arrive for my treatment?
We recommend arriving 5 minutes early to relax and begin your session calmly.

If it's your first visit, we will require you to fill in a quick consultation form before we start the treatment.

 

27. What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear something comfortable. You’ll be provided with privacy to change before and after your session.

 

28. Can I eat before my session?
A light meal is fine, but try to avoid heavy food, caffeine and alcohol directly before your treatment for maximum comfort and relaxation.

 

29. Should I avoid wearing perfume or makeup before a facial or massage?

Yes please, fresh, clean skin is ideal.

 

30. What should I do if I’m running late?
Please contact your therapist as soon as possible. Sessions that start late may be shortened out of respect for other clients.

 

31. Is there parking nearby? 

Our customers tend to use public transport to reach us, or park in various NCP nearby like the one in Churchill Square.

 

Health & Safety

32. What if I have allergies or medical conditions?
Please inform your therapist before your session so they can adapt the treatment accordingly. We aim to create a safe, supportive experience for everyone.

 

33. Are your treatments suitable for people with mobility issues?

Yes, our treatments are suitable for clients with mobility considerations. 

However, please note that our treatment room is located up two flights of stairs, and clients will need to be able to get on and off the treatment couch independently.

 

34. Are holistic treatments safe during pregnancy?
Yes, but only specific treatments designed for pregnancy, such as Holistic Pregnancy Massage or Reflexology for Pregnancy, are recommended. Please let your therapist know if you are pregnant when booking. 

We do not treat women in their first trimester of pregnancy for safety reasons. 

 

35. Do you follow hygiene and sanitisation protocols? 

Yes, our space and equipment are cleaned and sanitised regularly.  

 

36. Can I have a treatment if I’m feeling unwell?

 If you think you caught something that can be infectious, please get in touch with the therapist with at least 48 hours' notice to move your appointment. 

 

Policies

37. What is your cancellation policy?
We require at least 48 hours notice to cancel an appointment free of charge. No exceptions made.

  • Cancellations within 24 hours: 50% charge

  • No-shows or same-day cancellations: 100% charge

 

38. Can I reschedule my appointment?
Yes, please contact your therapist directly if you need to rearrange your session, or you can reschedule it yourself on our website

 

39. What happens if I don’t show up for my appointment?
Missed appointments are charged at the full session rate, as the therapist has reserved this time especially for you.

 

40. Do you offer refunds?

Yes, we do, if the booking is cancelled within 48hours.

We’re located at 11 Dukes Lane, Brighton BN1 1BG, above Aquila Jewellery shop. Please enter through their entrance.

43. Do you host workshops or retreats?
Yes, we host workshops and retreats focused on mindfulness, sound healing, and holistic wellbeing and breathwork. Details are available on our website under “Workshops & Retreats.”

 

44. Can I buy gift vouchers in person?

 Yes you can purchase gift vouchers at the Auila Jewellery shop or with your therapist. 

 

45. Do you offer corporate or group sessions? 

Floating Feather specialists in bespoke 1-1 sessions with clients, not corporate or group sessions.

 

46. Can I book Floating Feather for events or wellness days?

47. Do you offer online or remote healing sessions?

We are pleased to offer Ayurvedic consultations online. 

 

48. What qualifications do your therapists hold?

 All our practitioners are fully trained and qualified in their respective fields, bringing a wealth of experience in massage, energy work, aromatherapy, and holistic healing. We are both insured and members of the FHT.
